#FIVEONFRIDAY

#FIVEONFRIDAY

Discover our top five must-knows for this week :)

Ciara O’Doherty

This week we had a very welcomed visit from Stylist and Presenter Ciara O’Doherty. Our first encounter with the talented lady was a combination of fashion talk and taking many, many selfies earlier this month at Dublin Fashion Festival. This time our meeting was far more professional with Ms O’Doherty taking the leap and opening up her our own consignment account with us –YAY! You can keep up-to-date with all of Ciara’s antics and latest fashion discovers via her Instagram, Twitter and of course, Facebook.

Sketchy Inc

Throughout both shops there are some eye-catching and distinctive creations and I’m not talking just about the clothes. For Crow Street we have our refurnished cabinets and hot pink vanity mirror courtesy of Quirkistuff. While in Temple Lane along with the vintage LV suitcases there is my favourite piece - our shop portraits created and designed by the hugely talented, Sketchy Inc.  For the past six years and counting, SketchyInc has been re-envisioning some of Dublin’s landmarks. You can check out his Siopaella piece in Temple Lane and also be blown away with his amazing work online.

Spot the Dot Sale

We are never one to shy away from a party here at Siopaella! Add some discounted items and a chance to catch up with our amazing customers and we are there! Next Thursday, September 25th, we will be hosting a #spotthedot sale whereby select stock will be further marked down by up to 50%! With beverages and nibbles provided for the evening event, it is the perfect way to do some guilt free shopping and enjoy a giggle or two along the way. Stay posted to our Facebook and Twitter for updates and more info about the event.

Culture Night

A night out perfect for all the family is Culture Night 2014. Running from 5-11 pm, the entire experience is the ideal platform for Dublin to showcase all it has to offer in entertainment, history and discovery. With over seven Culture Quarters marked throughout the city, getting to know your community and cultural surroundings couldn't be easier.

Slow Skies

The latest track ‘Bodies’ from Dublin based group, SlowSkies, has just been released. I was lucky enough to catch their Body and Soul set at Electric Picnic 2013 – beautiful and unforgettable. You can check them out supporting James Vincent McMorrow on October 5th at the Shepard’s Bush Empire, London just before their own gig on the 8th at the Sugar Club.

#FIVEONFRIDAY

#FIVEONFRIDAY

You can't cry long weekend hangover anymore I'm afraid!
It's time to rejoin the world - read on to find out what's happening this week.

Temple Bar Night Market

Temple Bar at night may not sound like the most desirable place to spend your evening but thanks to the Temple Bar Night Market that is quickly changing. Held every Thursday evening until late, the Night Market is perfect place to go and explore some of the amazing talent in arts, crafts and performers that Dublin has to offer.

 Chupi

Another instagramer/designer I shamefully stalk is the amazing Irish jeweler, Chupi. Specialising in creating beautiful delicate gold jewellery, you can see why at the age of 21 this talented lady was scouted by Topshop during her first year of college.
Her AW collection, ‘Fly away with me…’, is simply exquisite.

Discover Loyalty: Picture This

Huge thank you to the wonderful team that is Picture This Dublin! Last night we had the pleasure of being fed and entertained by the guys all in celebration of their newest endeavor, the Discover Loyalty Card.  The card is a Golden ticket to the city. With amazing discounts, deals and sooo much more! Picture This Dublin are spreading their talent and providing you with so many more ways to #Enjoyyourcity.  Check out Timi’s post to learn more and read all about the night.

Totally Dublin

The newest issue of Totally Dublin has just landed into the shop – YAY!!  Providing us with the latest happenings within Dublin in relation to music, film and reviews. It’s what quick lunch breaks are made of! Pop into the shop to grab your own copy.

Raglans

If you haven’t already noticed we do love our festival and music scene here in Siopaella HQ. This week we thought we’d give a shout out to one of our favourite Irish bands, Raglans. Having stumbled upon the lads at last year’s Electric Picnic I can say without a doubt that they are a band you must see live! Give them a listen and to any of our Cork followers you are in luck, Raglans play the Timoleague Festival this Saturday.

#FIVEONFRIDAY

Another week, another five amazing events to share with you! J

A Dog’s Life Charity Sale

Comfy clothes? Check! Hair off the face as not to impair vision? Check! Coins at the ready…..GO!!
It’s that manic time again in Siopaella HQ - our Dog’s Life Charity Sale is this Sunday June 29th. With over 500 items at €3, ranging from designer goods to high-street heaven, it is a must have shopping experience for all fashion lovers. Starting at noon, our Dog’s Life Charity Sale is an amazing day to give back to those furry babies who sadly don’t get their much deserved hugs and kisses unlike our own sweet Louis and trusting Raquel. Check out our Facebook page for more info and may the odds ever be in your favour. J

The Dublin Pride Parade

For the past two weeks Dublin has been covered in rainbow pride and we LOVE it! Running from June through to July, Dublin Pride has provided various exciting events throughout the city. From highlighting the history of LGBT pride within Dublin, ‘Singing in the City’ performances by Various Voices, Wilde art exhibitions and even to the old-favourite, bingo. Thanks to Dublin Pride, the city has a new lease of life and appreciation. All the amazing work and contributions come together in the Dublin Pride Parade this Saturday 28th. We certainly will be embracing the rainbow goodness that afternoon!

Temple Bar Food Market

The Temple Bar Food Market is THE place that ‘foodies’ (like us) dream about. An entire Saturday afternoon could be spent experiencing and admiring the various treats displayed throughout the market. Based in Temple Bar’s Meeting House Square, just a street over from our Temple Lane shop, the Temple Bar Food Market is a must see, smell and taste. With so much variety and zest provided, it will have you counting down the days until the next Saturday!

Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival

Need an escape from the city this weekend? Then grab your Raybans (have you seen the incredible vintage range in both shops?), throw in a bucket and spade and head to Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival this weekend. Based in the beautiful Bundoran, Donegal, the three day music and surf festival is the perfect weekend to literally put your feet in the sand, let your city worries wash away and enjoy those feel good vibes. 99’ cones with raspberry syrup would be a must!

Dublin Castle – Chihuly in Dublin

Dale Chihuly’s exhibition, ‘Ulysses Cylinders’, is on display in Dublin Castle from June 19th – August 23rd.  Chihuly is an extremely talented artist who creates vibrant and beautiful glass installations and chandlers. For this particular exhibition, Chihuly has teamed up with painter, Seaver Leslie, to create a truly stunning collection. If you've fallen in love with our chandeliers from Siopaella home ware, (Ciara’s post) then the Chihuly exhibition is a must see due to its craftsmanship and imagination.

A Dog's Life Charity Sale!

***

11AM ON FRIDAY, 21st JUNE 2013 @ SIOPAELLA CROW STREET

***

It's that time again! We literally have an entire room of amazing donations that will be up for grabs for €4 this Friday. The best thing about it? All proceeds go to A Dog's Life. That's right, it's guilt free shopping!!

So how does it work?

Well our fantastic consignors have been donating pieces over the last couple of months and some very generous members of the public have been dropping off goodies too! All these items will be on sale this Friday at our Crow Street store from 11am. And every single one of them will be €4 - so keep an eye out for some great designer finds!

For those who mightn't be able to come to the shop, worry not, we'll also be auctioning off some lovely pieces over on our Facebook page - and, again, every single cent raised will go to the charity.

Can't get in until Friday afternoon? That's ok too! We'll be releasing new rails of clothes throughout the day so don't worry, you won't miss everything by coming later!

As always, our resident pooches Raquel and Louis (who's a rescue dog himself!) will be on hand for cuddles if the sale gets too much for you!

And if you'd like to donate items for the sale then just drop them off at our Crow Street store between now and Thursday!

Find out more about the great work that A Dog's Life does on their website :)
